How to Clean Sheepskin Rugs

There is nothing quite like a luxurious and soft feeling of a genuine sheepskin rug to add warmth to any room. But after a normal, everyday traffic, they begin to show soil. Thus, the question, how do you clean the carpets.

Of course, if your sheepskin rug in a special care instructions that will follow, as it may void any warranties. However, if you do not have these instructions, here is what we share with our customers.

Regular care.

Before washing, many sheepskin rugs can be maintained by simply brushing with a wire brush and then shake the fibers of the skin or even vacuuming attachment ARM with no one that uses a spinning bar, because it can damage the fibers.

Washing methods.

• Spot clean with one of the soaps in the Soap section below.
• machine wash on delicate cycle or hand wash in cold or hot water. We do not recommend washing dark colored pelts in the washing machine, because the color may fade or bleed. For Stubborn dirt, you can soak in the sheepskin cleaner / shampoo for up to 20 minutes.
• You can also dry clean using sheepskin or white spirits, hydrocarbon or perchlorethylene.

Temperature of the water.

The water should not exceed more than 100 degrees.

Soap.

Use only mild detergent and detergents, which are non-alkaline, non-iconic and do not contain biological enzymes. Bleach / enzymes counter-act the tanning process, which can damage the parchment. We recommend a pure Castile biodegradable camp, soaps, such as the Kookaburra wool wash. Do not use Woolite or laundry detergents, such as season.

Drying.

Line dry or dry flat and stretch to shape while it is still wet. Even better results, you can brush the parchment with a wire brush to fluff up fibers. What are you doing, do not you dry your sheepskin rugs and a flake. Even the gentlest may cause your sheepskin rug to shrink or cause hardening of the strike.

A time to dry your sheepskin rug, a bat to help restore appearance and soft soft wool.

If you plan on keeping your carpet after cleaning, make sure it is completely dry. Then, choose a cool, airy place that is not direct sunlight, such as a large closet. We do not recommend keeping the parchment output bags for a long time. Plastic will not allow the fibers to breathe, so condensation can be done in warm conditions, which damage the sheepskin pelt over time.

Sheepskin rugs are a great investment for your home, but proper care, cleaning and storage, you can enjoy your sheepskin rug for many years to come.
